I live in a modern city; Looking out my condo window I see the straight lines of the very tall buildings. Transfer me to an ancient street in Bruges, Belgium. Every building I see has been there for at least 450 years. The charm engaged me as I sketched with water colors in my small pad. I realized quickly any struggles I have had with perspective in the past it made no difference here. Every building was crooked, each one leaning in, or out or towards its neighbor. Bright colors on the houses added to the charm of this engaging street. I couldn’t wait to get home and transfer the image to fabric and stitch.
