I have always believed there are special places on earth that feel very spiritual. In these places it is almost like the very ground and rock has absorbed mystical powers and is slowly giving it back to the universe. I get this feeling whenever I visit the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. I just immerse myself in the rock formations and the reflections of sunlight on the red rock. The gnarled ancient pine trees add to the mystery. I have done numerous water color sketches of this place and finally decided to create the feeling of this special place in fabric, stitch and paint.
