I often keep an idea board on a wall in my studio. There are my favorite sketches, a few photographs, brochures from art shows I have visited, and an occasional postcard.

I have had the postcard featuring the art exhibit for the exhibit, Passport to Paris, hanging on my idea wall for years. The famous piece, “Avenue de Clichy” by Louis Anquetin is the picture on the front of the postcard
I had a challenge from an art instructor, Sue Benner to create my own abstracted version of the piece that I loved so much. Sue encouraged collage layers and monotype printing on fabric. . Night at the Opera” is my finished piece. It chose the name after enjoying a wonderful night at the opera hearing “Carmen” by the Colorado Opera Company.
