A mixed media/fiber piece. When I had the privilege to visit northern India in January of 2020, I saw meaningful options for future work constantly. But when we attended a musical concert in a small palace, I knew I wanted to express the beautiful music and talented musicians in an art piece. The drummer was mesmerizing, the music he created with his talented hands made me feel part of this unfamiliar culture.
The drummer is a mixed media/fiber piece influenced; I was inspired by Picasso’s black and white piece called ”Baiser.” I decided to create my image of the drummer in black and white feeling that I could imitate Picasso’s use of this striking color palette.
