One of the most beautiful cities in Portugal is Porta. Porta is divided in half by the Douro River. One side of the river is ancient walls and buildings. The other side is made up of commerce and river-based businesses.
This bridge over the river is of ancient stone and is extremely high above the river. There is another bridge that crosses the river nearby. It is steel girders with cars rushing on it.
The place and the view kept me there for a long time. I took numerous photographs but when I returned home these ancient building with worn steps up the rock cliffs were what drew me to creating my piece. It helped me remember a wonderful trip.
