A mixed media/fiber piece based on hearing a wonderful saxophone player at my local jazz club.

My friend Karen invited me to go listen to live jazz at Dazzle. It was our first time being able to hear live jazz for almost 2 years. Dazzle is a wonderful small venue on Curtis Street in Denver. Dazzle features all types of music but Primarily features jazz.

We went to see the Rob Mullen Quartet. Rob was fabulous on the piano, but the saxophone player became my sole focus. He played so wonderfully. I immersed myself both in listening and watching his movements as he seemed to become one with the music.

Unfortunately, I did not get his name. He was just filling in that night. The beautiful sounds stayed with me and inspired me to make this large portrait of him.
