Let There be Light is a mixed media/fiber piece based on the 2nd day of Creation as told in Genesis, but also the story is found in many other cultures. Imagine the universe without the planets, the stars, the various moons, and suns. Looking up into our night sky it is easy to believe in an all-powerful God that says, “There shall be light, a light to light the night and a light to light the day.” Scientists explain how all the various lights in the sky evolved. Their theories will continue long beyond my lifetime. I quit struggling with these two conflicting stories and began creating lights for a dark sky. Many layers of paint, fabric, and paper later my interpretation of the universe evolved.
